The Forum Stadtpark Graz (Austria) is reorganizing itself:

On June 9, 2021, the new trio of board members was presented, replacing the long-time director Heidrun Primas, as well as the newly elected Programmforum for the areas of performance, architecture, social politics, visual arts, literature, photography and music. Fiston Mwanza Mujila takes over the literature division, making him the Forum Stadtpark’s literature coordinator.

“I am honored to serve as the new coordinator for literature at Forum Stadtpark.

When I decided to live in Graz, I started to look at the city not as a tourist who knows he will leave on the next train, but as someone who returns to his birthplace after twenty years or who visits the country of his parents for the first time. Everything was organic, masterfully intertwined with each other like a philharmonic orchestra, and that confused me. The city seemed to glow, to have a body, a breath, a soul. It was before me as a labyrinth, or a giant puzzle whose pieces I had to put together. Streets turned into rivers that crossed the main square and flowed into the Mur, and the Mur that changed its direction. So I started looking for the meaning or the city within the city. It was important to find my way. I started mapping the city – the language, Austrian literature, the history of the city and the people and settlements. Forum Stadtpark was one of those institutions I liked to visit to understand the city, or at least the sense of the city.”
